a budget-friendly, wardrobe that doesn't make you itch: for the working girl
We are so excited to be launching a new series all about fashion. Now before you guys roll your eyes and click away, we knew we would have to call in the experts to help us on this topic. We said from day one, that we weren't going to try to be all things to all people or write on subjects we had no business writing about; but rather, if there were awesome women doing awesome things—like totally nailing effortless style—we were going to share it with y'all.
Kicking off our "budget-friendly, wardrobe that doesn't make you itch" series is a post tailored (see what I did there?) to our working gals. We asked the bold and beautiful, Brandy G of Authentically B, to curate three shoppable looks for us. We were looking for outfits that were functional, stylish, work-appropriate, and easy on the wallet—all geared toward the working woman, in a typical office environment. The looks she came up with totally blew us away. Brandy also shared some super smart tips for balancing fashion and function in the workplace. She is seriously #goals.
This look is super affordable, ultra chic, and can be worn to the office any day. While I might switch out the fitted pant for trousers, this blazer-over-a-simple-top idea can be reinvented in so many ways.
When I think about going to a special meeting the first thing I think about is how I want to be comfortable. I always wear something that I won’t have to pull or tug on. I also like to cover up a bit more so that all parties involved can chat without any visual distractions. An interesting shoe choice is a great way to stand out while staying focused on the content of the meeting.
When I think casual, the first thing that comes to mind is DENIM! For Casual Friday, a denim dress is perfect. It’s great to wear with simple ballet flats or booties, plus you can hit happy hour right after work.
